Sergio Caballero is a Research Scientist at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics. He has over ten years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in industry and academia. Sergio Caballero has been part of the Megacity Logistics Lab, a pioneering initiative in the field of urban logistics, since 2013. His work focuses on multi-tier distribution network design in urban settings, last-mile delivery data analytics and high-resolution modeling. Currently, he is also part of the MIT Freight Lab, an initiative that envision better ways to design, procure, and manage large-scale freight transportation systems.
Sergio Caballero holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with focus in Supply Chain Management from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico. He received his master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems from the School of Engineering and Sciences at ITESM where he was approved with Honors. His educational background includes a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca (USFX) in Sucre, Bolivia.
